Blood test could reveal how melanoma changes during treatment
NCT ID NCT02133222
First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at 22 people with advanced (stage IV) melanoma to see if DNA from tumors floating in the blood could help doctors understand how the cancer changes during chemotherapy. Researchers compared genetic mutations found in blood samples taken before and after treatment with the original tumor's DNA. The goal was to learn whether simple blood tests could guide personalized treatment, not to test a new therapy.
