Brain radiation plus immunotherapy: new hope for melanoma patients?

Summary
This study looks at whether adding targeted radiation to the brain (stereotactic radiotherapy) to standard immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab) helps people with melanoma that has spread to the brain. About 218 adults with stage IV melanoma and untreated brain tumors will be randomly assigned to get either the drug combo alone or the drugs plus radiation. The main goal is to see if the combination reduces the number of deaths caused by brain-related problems.
