Can a 5-Minute breathwork app tame anxiety?
NCT ID NCT07672925
First seen Jun 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study explores whether a mobile app called FlowMD can help adults with mild anxiety. Participants use the app for 1-5 minutes of guided breathwork each day for four weeks. Surveys measure changes in anxiety levels and how easy the app is to use. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and effective for managing anxiety.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- FlowMD guided breathwork sessions
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a simple, accessible tool for people to manage mild anxiety on their own.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small feasibility study with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The app may not be effective for all types of anxiety.
