Summary
This study tested whether delivering weekly meals could help people with opioid use disorder who struggle to get enough food. Fifty adults receiving treatment for opioid addiction were randomly assigned to receive either basic nutrition information or that information plus 12 weeks of meal deliveries. The group that received meals showed significant improvements in their food security, reported fewer depression symptoms, and had better quality of life scores.
