New radiation bead injection targets untreatable liver tumors

NCT ID NCT07391839

First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests a single injection of MDN-001 (yttrium-90 microspheres) in 40 adults with liver cancer that cannot be surgically removed. The tiny radioactive beads are delivered directly to the tumor to destroy cancer cells from within. The main goals are to check safety and see if the treatment shrinks the tumor, delays progression, and improves quality of life.
