Rare disease kids put to the test: exercise study reveals metabolic secrets
NCT ID NCT06796530
First seen Mar 26, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at how high-intensity exercise affects children with MCADD, a rare genetic condition that makes it hard to break down certain fats for energy. Eight children (four with MCADD and four healthy controls) did intense bike and circuit exercises while researchers checked their blood sugar and other safety measures. The goal was to learn more about how exercise impacts metabolism in these children, not to test a treatment.
