First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested whether combining back massage with Lamaze breathing exercises can reduce pain and anxiety during childbirth for first-time mothers. 90 pregnant women in Pakistan were split into two groups: one received the massage and breathing plus standard care, the other only standard care. Researchers measured pain levels, anxiety, labor length, and mother-baby health to see if these simple techniques improve the birth experience.
