New malaria combo shows promise in kids

Summary

This study tested a new combination of two drugs, KAF156 and lumefantrine, in 295 children aged 6 months to 18 years with uncomplicated malaria. The goal was to see if the treatment works well and is safe, and to offer a new option that may help prevent drug resistance. The study found that the combination was effective in clearing the malaria parasite by day 29.
