New bone putty could replace your own bone in foot surgery

NCT ID NCT07225751

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study compares a man-made bone graft material (MagnetOs) to using a patient's own bone for foot and ankle fusion surgery. About 126 adults needing this surgery will be randomly assigned to one of the two options. The main goal is to see if the synthetic material helps bones fuse together as well as the patient's own bone, as seen on CT scans 24 weeks after surgery.
