Summary
This study tests whether giving intravenous magnesium early to children aged 2 to 17 with severe asthma in the emergency room helps them breathe better. About 192 children who still have moderate-to-severe breathing trouble after standard treatment will receive either magnesium or a placebo. The goal is to see if magnesium reduces breathing distress within two hours, which could lead to better care or save costs if it doesn't work.
