First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding magnesium sulfate to a common painkiller (bupivacaine) could improve pain control after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, a type of weight-loss surgery. 68 adults aged 18-50 with a BMI of 30-50 took part. The goal was to see if the combination would reduce pain, lower the need for extra pain medicine, and shorten time in the recovery room and hospital.
