Mouth device may cut nightly bathroom runs for sleep apnea patients

NCT ID NCT05562388

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This small study tested whether a mandibular advancement device (MAD) — a mouthpiece that moves the jaw forward — can reduce how often people with obstructive sleep apnea wake up to urinate at night. Eleven adults with sleep apnea and at least two nightly bathroom trips took part. The goal was to see if the device could bring nighttime urination below two times per night.
