New drug trial aims to free MDS patients from frequent blood transfusions

NCT ID NCT06113302

Summary

This study is testing whether the drug luspatercept can help patients with a lower-risk blood disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) need fewer blood transfusions. It will enroll about 40 adults with MDS, including those who currently need regular transfusions and those who don't but have low blood counts. Researchers will monitor how well the drug works and its safety over time.
