Searching for a better warning sign for lupus kidney damage
NCT ID NCT03664908
Summary
This study aimed to find a better way to screen for kidney disease in people with lupus. Researchers tested stored blood samples from 100 lupus patients to see if the presence of a specific antibody (anti-GBM) was linked to having lupus nephritis, a serious kidney complication. The goal was to see if this antibody could serve as a more reliable warning sign than current tests.
