New biologic combo shows promise for lupus kidney patients

Summary
This study compares two newer biologic drugs (belimumab and telitacicept) against the standard treatment for lupus-related kidney inflammation. About 50 adults with active lupus nephritis will receive either a biologic plus steroids, standard therapy (mycophenolate mofetil plus steroids), or a triple combination. The goal is to see which approach better improves kidney function and reduces protein in the urine over 6 months.
