Radiation-Free lung scans could protect fragile preterm infants

Summary
This study tests whether using lung ultrasound instead of chest X-rays can safely reduce radiation exposure in very preterm babies (born before 32 weeks) who need breathing support. About 180 infants will be randomly assigned to get either standard chest X-rays or lung ultrasound for lung imaging in their first two weeks of life. The goal is to see if ultrasound is a quick, gentle, and accurate alternative that can guide breathing support without the risks of radiation.
