NCT ID NCT03289975
First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study tested whether a lung ultrasound done right after major abdominal surgery can help predict which patients will develop serious breathing problems. Researchers measured fluid in the lungs of 165 ICU patients and combined it with heart function tests. The goal was to find early warning signs of acute respiratory distress, which could lead to faster, better care.
