New lung biopsy technique put to the test against standard method

NCT ID NCT04250194

Summary

This study aimed to find out which of two common biopsy procedures is better for diagnosing suspicious lung nodules. It randomly assigned 288 patients to have either a CT-guided needle biopsy through the chest wall or a newer navigation bronchoscopy that goes through the windpipe. The main goal was to see which method was more accurate at getting a clear diagnosis and which had fewer complications.
