New trial offers hope for lung cancer patients with lung scarring

Summary
This study is for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer who also have interstitial lung disease (ILD), a condition that causes lung scarring. Many doctors are unsure how to treat these patients because standard cancer therapies can worsen ILD. The trial will test two approaches: a specific chemotherapy combination as first treatment, and an immunotherapy drug as second treatment. The goal is to find safe and effective options for this understudied group.
