Scientists map the hidden world of bacteria in lung cancer
NCT ID NCT03068663
Summary
This study aims to understand the types of bacteria living in the gut, mouth, and lungs of people with non-small cell lung cancer. Researchers will compare samples from 40 patients, half of whom receive surgery alone and half who receive chemotherapy before surgery. The goal is to see how cancer treatments change these bacterial communities and if they are linked to the body's immune response, laying groundwork for future studies.
