Glowing dye lights up hidden cancer cells during surgery

NCT ID NCT00264602

Summary

This study is testing a new method to help surgeons see and remove the lymph nodes most likely to contain lung cancer cells during surgery. Doctors inject a tiny, safe amount of a special dye near the tumor and use a special near-infrared light to make it glow, highlighting the key lymph nodes. The goal is to improve the detection of cancer spread and help guide more precise surgery.
