Radiation's hidden power: boosting immunity against lung cancer?
NCT ID NCT03603002
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looked at how radiation therapy changes the immune system's ability to recognize and attack stage I non-small cell lung cancer tumors. Researchers took small tissue samples (biopsies) before and after radiation to see if the treatment activates T-cells, which are key immune cells. The goal was to understand the body's immune response, not to test a new treatment. Only 6 people took part, so the results are very early and exploratory.
