New scan aims to sharpen lung cancer radiation targeting
NCT ID NCT05030207
First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026
Summary
This study tests a new type of CT scan (real-time gated 4DCT) to see if it can produce clearer images for planning lung cancer radiation therapy. About 30 adults with lung cancer will receive one extra scan before or after their standard planning scan. The goal is to reduce image blurring caused by breathing, which could help doctors target tumors more precisely.
