First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested a new tool called the LUMENEYE rectoscope to see if it can better assess how well rectal cancer responds to chemotherapy and radiation. 82 patients who were good candidates for organ preservation were included. The goal was to see if the scope could accurately identify complete or nearly complete tumor response, potentially helping more patients avoid surgery.
