Study tests which back surgery works best

NCT ID NCT06335511

Summary

This study compared two common surgeries for a pinched nerve in the lower back (lumbar spinal stenosis). Fifty patients were assigned to receive either a simpler surgery to relieve pressure (decompression) or that same surgery plus a spinal fusion with metal hardware. Researchers measured which approach led to better pain relief, improved movement, and quality of life to help guide future patient care.
