Blood clot therapy may help preserve jawbone after tooth loss

NCT ID NCT07278180

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looked at how a material made from a patient's own blood (platelet-rich fibrin) affects bone healing after a tooth is pulled. Researchers measured changes in bone thickness and volume over 16 weeks using 3D scans. The goal was to learn how to better preserve bone for future dental implants. The study involved 40 healthy adults who needed a tooth removed.
