NCT ID NCT07189091

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving ICU patients lower-salt intravenous fluids can reduce the number of days they need life support like ventilators or dialysis. About 640 critically ill adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard saline or lower-salt fluids. The main goal is to see if the lower-salt approach helps patients survive and recover more quickly.
