New study tracks infection risks in artificial limb replacements

NCT ID NCT07544212

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks back at 200 patients who received a lower-limb megaprosthesis (a large artificial joint replacement) to understand how many develop infections and what factors increase that risk. Researchers will compare patients with and without infections to find patterns. The goal is to improve prevention and care, not to test a new treatment.
