Study tests if lower pain pill dose works as well, with fewer side effects

NCT ID NCT07456761

Summary

This study aims to find the best dose of a medication called pregabalin to manage pain after laparoscopic abdominal surgery. Researchers will compare a lower dose (82.5 mg) to a standard dose (165 mg) in 80 adults to see which one provides good pain relief while reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers and causing fewer side effects like dizziness or nausea. Participants will take one dose before surgery and have their pain and medication use monitored for 24 hours afterward.
