Gentler exercise may be just as good for older Women's heart health

NCT ID NCT07266961

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looked at 60 women aged 60 and older to see if a gentler form of resistance training (low-intensity with blood flow restriction) could improve cardiorespiratory fitness as well as moderate-intensity training. Both methods led to similar gains in fitness and perceived effort. The gentler approach may be safer for older adults while still providing benefits.
