First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study explores whether low intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) can safely reach and change brain areas linked to depression and anxiety that other non-invasive methods cannot. About 25 veterans with depression will receive LIFU while having their brain activity monitored with MRI. The main goal is to check safety and see if this technique can alter brain signals, paving the way for future treatments.
