Gentler surgery for appendicitis aims to cut pain and recovery time
NCT ID NCT04614519
Summary
This study tested a gentler surgical method for removing an appendix, called Low-Impact Laparoscopy (LIL), against the standard method. It involved 50 adults with uncomplicated appendicitis to see if the gentler technique caused less pain after surgery and helped patients recover faster. The main goal was to see if patients in the LIL group reported significantly less pain in the week following their operation.
