First seen Apr 03, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tested whether a low dose of tocilizumab, a drug used for arthritis, could help hospitalized COVID-19 patients with lung inflammation recover faster. It included 85 adults who were not on a breathing machine. The trial was stopped early, but the results may help guide how much of the drug is needed to treat severe COVID-19.
