Trial aims to slash dangerous steroid side effects in serious autoimmune disease
NCT ID NCT06983821
Summary
This study is testing a new treatment plan for a serious autoimmune disease that attacks the kidneys (ANCA-associated vasculitis). It compares a much shorter, 4-week course of steroids (glucocorticoids) combined with standard drugs to the current standard treatment, which uses steroids for over 6 months. The goal is to see if the shorter steroid plan can control the disease just as well while causing far fewer serious side effects, especially dangerous infections.
