Simple drug may prevent dangerous blood pressure drop during emergency surgery

Summary
This study tests whether giving a low-dose norepinephrine infusion just before anesthesia can prevent dangerously low blood pressure during emergency surgery for a severe abdominal infection (peritonitis). About 60 adults with stable blood pressure after initial treatment will be randomly assigned to receive either the drug or a placebo. The main goal is to see how long blood pressure stays too low during the start of surgery.
