First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether taking a low-dose antibiotic (clarithromycin) for three months after sinus surgery could stop nasal polyps from growing back early. 100 adults aged 15-75 who had surgery for nasal polyps took part. Those who received the antibiotic had fewer symptoms and a lower chance of polyps returning (12% vs 32%) compared to those who did not take it.
