Louisiana launches program to train pharmacists in HIV prevention
NCT ID NCT06530225
Summary
This study aims to train community pharmacists across Louisiana to prescribe PrEP, a daily medication that prevents HIV infection. Researchers will measure if this training helps pharmacists prescribe PrEP more confidently and more often to people from minority groups and rural areas who currently have less access. The goal is to gather data on how well pharmacy-based prescribing works to make HIV prevention more equitable across the state.
