New study tracks brain decline in progressive MS patients

NCT ID NCT03455582

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study follows 66 people with primary progressive multiple sclerosis (PPMS) and healthy volunteers for 2 years to see how thinking skills change. Researchers use memory and attention tests along with brain scans to link cognitive decline to brain tissue damage. The goal is to better understand why thinking problems happen in PPMS, not to test a treatment.
