Summary
This study followed 1,000 people who had a blood clot in a vein (venous thromboembolism) for several years. Researchers wanted to find out which patients should stay on blood-thinning medication long-term and to better understand how the disease progresses. Participants had yearly check-ups by phone or in person. The study did not test any new treatment but gathered important information to guide future care.
