Pumping hope: can a heart therapy ease long COVID's grip?
NCT ID NCT07492953
Summary
This study tested whether a non-invasive therapy called Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) could help adults suffering from long COVID. Ten participants received EECP treatment, which uses cuffs on the legs to gently improve blood flow, to see if it could improve their exercise capacity, heart and lung function, and reduce symptoms like fatigue and shortness of breath. Researchers compared two different schedules of the same total therapy to see if a shorter, more intense program worked as well as the standard one.
