Scientists probe earliest brain changes in Alzheimer's using eye tracking and nerve stimulation
NCT ID NCT06880510
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looks at a small brain area called the locus coeruleus, which may be damaged very early in Alzheimer's disease. Researchers will use MRI scans, eye tracking, and a gentle nerve stimulation technique to measure how this area affects attention and memory in 150 healthy adults. The goal is to better understand the link between early brain changes and thinking skills, not to test a treatment.
