New monitoring technique aims to soothe sore throats after surgery
NCT ID NCT07461467
Summary
This study is testing whether continuously monitoring and carefully adjusting the pressure in a common breathing tube used during surgery can reduce throat pain, hoarseness, and other complications afterward. It focuses on patients aged 60 and older having certain elective surgeries. Researchers will compare a group where pressure is actively managed to a group where it is only monitored.
