Doulas deliver double duty: fighting postpartum depression and heart disease

Summary
This study tests a program where doulas provide mental health coaching and heart health education to new mothers after childbirth. The goal is to reduce postpartum depression and improve heart health. About 450 Black, Latinx, or Medicaid-covered mothers will take part, starting in the hospital and continuing for six months after birth.
