New ultrasound technique could replace MRI for fatty liver diagnosis

NCT ID NCT07373769

First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study will test a new ultrasound method to measure liver stiffness and fat content in 145 healthy volunteers and patients with fatty liver disease. The goal is to see if ultrasound can work as well as MRI or the current standard FibroScan. If successful, it could offer a cheaper, faster, and more accessible way to diagnose and monitor liver disease without needing a biopsy.
