Data tool helps surgeons decide best operation for tough liver cancers
NCT ID NCT07483242
Summary
This study tested a computer model designed to help surgeons make better decisions for patients with a complex type of liver cancer that has spread into the bile duct. The tool analyzed patient scans and health data to predict who would live longer if surgeons removed the bile duct during cancer surgery versus leaving it intact. Researchers found that patients who had the surgery recommended by the model had better survival outcomes.
