This study looked at 180 people with liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma) who also had cirrhosis caused by either fatty liver disease or alcohol use. Researchers compared immune cells and gut bacteria in the liver to understand why cancer develops. The goal was to gather knowledge, not to test a new treatment.
