Exercise eases pain in lipedema, new study hopes

NCT ID NCT06558851

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study looks at whether 12 weeks of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) can reduce pain and improve quality of life in women with lipedema, a chronic fat disorder that mainly affects the legs. About 62 women with confirmed lipedema will be randomly assigned to either the exercise program or their usual care, then switch groups. The main goal is to see if exercise lowers pain and helps with daily activities.
