First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether the antibiotic linezolid works better than vancomycin at preventing surgical site infections in people who are allergic to penicillin or at risk for MRSA. About 1,160 adults having elective surgeries will receive one of the two drugs before their operation. The goal is to see which antibiotic leads to fewer infections within a year after surgery.
