First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 12-week healthy lifestyle program could prevent major depression in older adults who recently lost a spouse. 151 people aged 60+ who were at high risk for depression took part. Half received coaching on sleep, meals, and physical activity, while the other half got usual care. Researchers tracked mood, anxiety, and grief for up to 18 months to see if the lifestyle program helped.
