First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving lidocaine through a vein during gallbladder surgery can lower inflammation and pain, and help the gut start working again sooner. About 90 adults having planned laparoscopic gallbladder removal will take part. Half will get lidocaine, half a placebo, and neither they nor their doctors will know which.
